Happy 28th

Casey turned 28 a few weeks ago, and we had a little family party for him at Market Street then cake and ice cream at my parents. Casey is always so good at making sure he spoils his girls on holidays so we decided to spoil him for a day. I am so proud of this man and all the hard work he has put in the last few months. It's been hard having him working so many hours, and then going to school. Casey got a 3.5 this semester so the parents and I decided to pitch in and get him a laptop for school. Hopefully it will make school a little more enjoyable and the semesters go a little faster. Happy Birthday Casey!!!

Easter

We had a really fun Easter, other than a few attitude problems it was a really good day! It was also my moms birthday, whit and I had planned on making her dinner, but when we showed up at her house she had already made a feast (think Thanksgiving) so that idea didn't work. I LOVE my mom and all that she does her family she really is the most incredible woman. Sienna loved the easter egg hunt that lead to her basket. We tried dying eggs the night before and the little stink would have NOTHING to do with it. She has her own agenda and there is no way no how you can change her stubborn mind!! I had mixed feelings with Easter being on conference weekend, I look forward to getting her a new easter dress and taking her to church. Conference was exactly what my overwhelmed mind needed. I couldn't believe all the talks that were given on the importance of parenting. I get nervous just thinking about the teenage years and what challenges she will face in her life.

Mimi showing Sienna her loot
LOVE these two stinkers
I had to put this picture on of sienna and "uncle" she LOVES him so much. Although I doubt there is a kid that has met pete that doesn't instantly think he is the best!!!

Who says Thomas the train isn't Girlie?

We had Sienna's big 3rd Birthday the other night and the theme she picked was Thomas the Train. I have to admit I was trying to talk her into something else a little more girlie, but when she wouldn't budge I figured I better get to work! She was so EXCITED when she saw all the Thomas decoration, especially when Auntie Boo boo walked in with her darling hat and matching wand. Sienna had so much fun and loved having all of her FAVORITE people there to celebrate with her.

Ohhh how I LOVED this cake! Sienna came unglued when she saw it for the first time. Thank goodness for Annie's discovery of Dippidee Bakery, because I didn't know how I was going to find a CUTE Thomas cake.

Sienna in her new throne loving her new hat and wand. So I decided I had to make a 3 shirt and I found this sequin idea and decided to try it out. WOW what a waste of time lets just say all of those hand sewn sequins didn't last very long on a 3 year olds shirt!

The "Birthday Girl" sign that I did twice, I drive myself nuts!

I will never ever be tired of her sweet little kisses

And finally the new train set that is now a permanent fixture on my coffee table, I really don't think we can get anymore toys packed into this little house!

She LOVED being sung too. She was a little nervous about blowing out the "fire" so we sang twice and she figured it out the second time around.

The best part about her cake is the little train was a mini cake that was all for her!

Sienna and her mimi

And her FAVORITE cousin!

The two Best Friends a girl could have!

Happy Birthday little girl!

This post has taken me so long to put together. How do I even pick my most favorite moments from the last 3 years. I have to admit I cried a lot going through them all, I can't believe how much has changed. Sienna has brought so much joy into our lives. And I am so LUCKY to be her mom. She has taught Casey and I so much about life and the importance of family. I cherish EVERY day I get to spend with her because I know not long from now she will start school and her independence will begin. I was listening to a song today and little Siennas voice in the back seat singing "caterpillar in the tree how I wonder who you'll be can't go far but you can always dream wish I may and wish I might don't you worry hold on tight promise you that there will come a day butterfly fly away" and I couldn't help but get choked up. I hope so much that I can build a relationship with her like my mom has with me, because there is not a day that goes by that I don't need my mom! I know that might sound silly, but really she is my Best Friend! I see now why my mom was so overprotective of me and would do anything for me. There is no better gift than being a mom and I truly am blessed.

For baby Ava

This is the quilt that I made for my cousin Jennies new baby girl Ava. When I saw the little bird fabric it was LOVE at first sight. And I had almost all the brown and pinks in my stash of fabrics. I even had the brown and pink minky that's on the back of the quilt.

I made her name small just incase Jen decided to switch her name on me!
After I showed jen the fabric she told me that Ava means bird, I thought was too funny since I had no idea.
I wanted to try and show the quilting on the back. I love how the flowers stand out on the soft fabric.

My girl

I took this top picture while she was sitting on the coffee table. And after I snapped it she fell off and I snapped the second!
I can't believe how big my little girl looks these days. And all the fun things she can do and is learning. I have a feeling this might be a long post I have been meaning to write all this down before I forget. Sienna has always been sassy a little too sassy for her own good! The things that come out of this little girls mouth can be extra sweet or extra naughty. I know she is a little bit like her mom in this regard. After I got back from Hawaii sienna had picked up on a few of Grandmas favorite words that I was not too happy about, and it has been a struggle to get it to stop. I finally resorted to soap in the mouth (I know I am so mean but when your 2 year old is saying swear words when she drops a toy you get desperate) but all the soap did was make her throw up (mother of the year I know) and make her so paranoid. After it happened we were putting her to bed and in her prayer she said "bless I listen to mom and dad and NO soap in the mouth amen" I have to admit I laughed when she said it, but also cringed inside. Let's just say we are EXTRA careful around here! I am even paranoid to watch my shows that I like around her, and when we are in the car I either have kids music on or a movie going.

Sienna is in LOVE with all things princess she will only wear dresses or skirts. I have just given up on buying pants because she refuses to wear them! We watch way too many princess movies that she know acts them out as she watches them and repeats all there lines. One of her favorite lines for anything that she gets happy about is "oh it's a dream come true"! Just the other day she was watching Cinderella, and on the part where she is running down the stairs to go to the ball, Sienna runs up the stairs and starts yelling "wait oh please wait for me" and then runs down the stairs. She LOVES to sing and sings all day long. They range from disney songs, christmas songs, primary songs, nursery rhymes, ABC's etc.

She has always loved to be read to, but now she wants to read to you. She has her favorites memorized and we read them every night sometimes more than once.

Sienna also LOVES trains. When we take the cute little girl I nanny up to the U once a week she gets so EXCITED to see trax. My house is cluttered with trains and princess accessories. I am debating on throwing her a train party for her 3rd birthday or a princess party.

She is still the worlds pickiest eater. Last night I was trying to get her to try something new she said "mom its yucky I will just spirt it out" aka spit it out! She now tries to talk her way out of being in trouble and will say all sorts of sweet sayings to try and change her punishment. My favorite is when I tell her I love her and she says "I love you too mom" and "I love you the most" and "you are my best friend" her little words melt my heart. I could keep going on but I will stop seeming that this is a extra long post!

I have the SEWING bug...

I decided it's time to change the blog. I have had the major sewing bug these day's this is my second quilt I have done in the last 2 weeks. My first is a baby quilt for my cute cousin Jennie who just had a little girl yesterday. It is at the quilters right now so when I get it back I will post pictures. I got this fabric last summer and finally did something with it. I think I have a big obsession with any pattern with birds on it since the last 4 quilts have them on it. My big project right now is a new quilt for Sienna it is complete with a princess crown, tutu, necklace basically the sweetest little princess quilt for my little girl who is OBSESSED with anything princess right now. I am hoping to have it done for her 3rd Birthday in a month (gosh I can't believe that my baby is going to be 3.) I need to do a big post about her so much has changed with my big girl that needs to be documented.
